M2BH 4th Duathlon

The Malacca Mountain Bike Hash Club (M2BH) held their 4th Duathlon on 20th January 2008. It was well received with 128 participants from neighbouring states besides Malacca coming to challenge themselves and their fellow competitors to 11 km off road riding, 5 km running and another 11 km off road riding again.
The organising committee has a pleasant surprise when at the last minute the Chief Minister of Malacca, Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam came on a verbal invitation from a fellow biker. The OC of the day, Norhisham did a splendid job of introducing our CM to the activities of M2BH that he pledge a donation of RM5,000.00 to the club. Thank You Datuk Seri!
Club Bikemaster, Regis doing the chief marshal job to all participants on rules and regulation of the race. "See that line over there, when you approach it, get your butt off the saddle and run with the bike to the bike station".

And off they go after CM sounded the air horn.

I would like to recommend Malacca as another bike friendly city. Malacca city has been upgraded to lure tourist and many of the pathway and streets have recently been repaved and new ones created. These paths are ideal cycling areas. I highly recommend night cycling around city area where you get to see lights like below
Or outskirts where you might chance upon unique signage. The cows in this particular area are educated and know where their boundries are.
Lastly, what better reason to cycle when you have good pals to cycle with

SBH Mtb Challenge

Sin Bee Hin Bike Shop had their 1st SBH Melaka Mountain Bike Challenge 2007 on 30th Dec and cyclingben was there to report this exciting event.

How did this race came about? Well, after Penang Kayuh Lasak in early December ended, many of the riders are still in top form and not wanting to lose the momentum, the idea of a race came up. Credit has to be given to the organising committee for coming up with the event in less than 3 weeks.

A total of almost 100 riders took part in one of the 6 different categories. There was category for everyone of different ages and strengh.

In the Ladies Category, Siew Peng (right) took the champion place followed by Mei (left) who came in about 2 minutes later.

A moment of pride for all the winners

Local exco member YB Wong Nai Chee was present to flag off the riders.

Papayas anyone?

Christmas Ride

A group of Knight Riders join in the festivities of Christmas on 19th Dec 2007 by riding to Portuguese Settlement in Ujong Pasir. One just cannot miss the feeling of merriment when you are surrounded by a community who celebrates Christmas in a large scale. Although the Knight Riders may not be staying in this area but the probability is high that you will bumb into your friends or neighbour as people from other parts of Malacca come specially to see the beautiful decorated houses sprinkled with sparkling lights.

Birthday Boy - Tay Jit Yang

The Knight Riders would like to wish birthday boy Ah Yang Happy 26th Birthday which happens to fall on today 28th Dec.

All the best to you!
